After Madagascar “The Challenges of sustainable development” edited in 2002 and Madagascar Toda “A window to the future” in 2005, it is my real pleasure to present you this new issue with the satisfaction of accomplished duty, and also with the hope that I will contribute, be it infinitesimally, to help make a bit more well known the potentialities of Madagascar, this extraordinary country that is loved by the Malagasy people, of course, but also by all those who have had the chance to know it.

“A new impulse, new challenges” aims to accompany the economical takeoff of the Great Island, and it is with enthusiasm and passion that my collaborators have helped me write this book. I thank them from the bottom my heart, as well as the economical operators who have helped finance this work.

As I am confident in the fact that Madagascar will give us other occasions to communicate about its economical evolution, this book is therefore not the finale of the series.
